Sukarya provides one to six months unpaid internship placements for individuals who are interested in working with a non-profit organization while at the same time gaining valuable work experience and skills for an increasingly global workplace. You will be able to take part in a rewarding workplace experience, as you get an opportunity to be a part of the change and impact people’s health and lives. If you are a college student, you might also be able to receive credit through your respective college or university.
Many Indian or foreign students are looking for an interesting organisation in the social sector to do their training with. To help you decide whether internship with Sukarya matches with your internship needs we can provide you with specific inputs about the placement, as well as the exact nature of work to be undertaken. We provide professional and motivating guidance during the training program to help develop your professional skills in an NGO that gives you responsibility as well as the freedom of using your creativity.

Areas of volunteering and internship
We are looking for support in the following critical areas. You can opt for one or more areas of interest where you would like to contribute.
Health
- Quality improvement in antenatal, neonatal and postnatal services
- Assist in strategy formulation for health programs.
- Participation in health awareness program / campaign / camps
- Building linkage with other donor/support agencies
- Help in data management of camps, health centres through software development
- Small field based research studies focusing on need assessment, impact assessment of specific health interventions.
Income generation
- Assisting in helping people live with dignity through sustainable livelihood programs by formulating livelihood projects with sound business plans that would help in the economic development of communities.
- Enhancement in product designing, packaging & marketing in existing income generation initiatives.
Education
- Adult literacy classes for adult women/adolescents/school drop-outs
- Basic education to slum children
Communication
- Providing creative and/or technical inputs in helping us develop advocacy and communication materials related to our projects – brochures, pamphlets, posters, documentary films, radio programmes or project briefs.
- We welcome friends and supporters from all over the country and abroad who wish to help promote our projects and further our mission. You can talk about the activities of Sukarya to your friends and encourage them to visit our website and send us their names and addresses so that we can add them to our mailing list.
Fund- Raising
- Help with innovative ideas for raising funds. Holding fund raising event on Sukarya’s behalf or raising money through corporate sponsorship or even taking part in any fund raising event that we hold.
Training and Capacity Building
- Training in viable livelihood enhancement options for women. These could be in areas such as paper-bag making, stuffed toy making, block printing, catering etc.
- Training on health issues for community health workers and general population
- Training of field support staff in soft skills such as inter-personal communication, confidence-building, team-work.
Information Management System
- Set up/develop MIS for specific projects & record maintenance
- Web designing/ management
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- The organisation will not be able to make arrangements or pay for your boarding, lodging and other incidental expenses during internship.
- You are expected to clearly indicate your area of interest wherein you wish to work in the application form. This will help us to workout, if possible, suitable assignments in your preferred area.
- On successful completion of the internship with us you will be provided with a internship completion certificate.
- The organisation will recognise any exceptional performance rendered by individual internee, by providing additionally a letter of appreciation from the head of the organisation.
- For quicker and smoother processing of your application, if possible please route it through your institute/current employer, if any.
