RELIEF OPERATION
FOR GUJARAT EARTHQUAKE
The earthquake in Gujrat ruined a number of lives in a few seconds.
During the relief operations for earthquake victims in Gujrat though
hundreds of organizations from all over the world had come forward
to help out the victims there were yet many areas still left unattended.
Khodu village of Surinder Nagar district was one such place and
Sukarya was the first NGO to reach there. Sukary helped in running
of the primary and secondary school normally by providing tents
for establishing classrooms and principals office etc. This was
an achievement in itself.. Our team went to Gujrat thrice to contribute
our mite to help out people in their times of need. The work was
truly appreciated by the whole village and UNDP.
